Champions in Women's Health Award
Application Due Date: Application process closed for 2009 Champions. Next opportunity to submit applications for 2010 Champions is September, 2009.
Award Date: For 2009 Champions, winners will be notified January, 2009. Awards ceremony will be held May 1, 2009. Award: The Champions in Women’s Health Award honors individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and devoted themselves to improving the quality of life for women and families in the following women’s health areas: cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, domestic abuse, mental illness, osteoporosis, smoking & alcohol cessation, and rural women’s health. Nominated by their peers, award winners will be honored at a private reception during the weekend of WWHF's Spring Gala event. Nominees may include consumer advocates, volunteers, health care professionals, non-profit employees, or individuals who have overcome a significant health issue and/or inspired other women to become advocates for their own health. Past champions have been instrumental in raising the level of awareness about women’s health issues; and/or impacted the quality of care that women in this state receive.
