Mental health illnesses are conditions that disrupt a mood, patterns of thinking, feelings, and ability to handle the daily stresses of life. Having a mental illness does not mean you are weak or powerless; mental illnesses are extremely common and very treatable. In fact, in 2009, 1 out of every 5 U.S. women was engaged in some type of mental health treatment.
