The Cardiovascular Health Program:
The Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation, Inc. is a partner with the State of Wisconsin, Division of Public Health, Cardiovascular Health Program. Partners are the cornerstone of the Cardiovascular Health Program, working together to prevent and/or reduce the risk factors for heart disease and stroke throughout the state of Wisconsin.
Objectives of the Cardiovascular Health Program are:
- To prevent and reduce heart disease and stroke and improve cardiovascular health and quality of life in all communities throughout Wisconsin.
- Early detection of risk factors to prevent disease and promote behavior change
- Interventions after an event to reduce disability and risk of recurrence
- Promotion of healthy lifestyles and behavior patterns at the community level
- Local and statewide policies that support and encourage cardiovascular health.

Cardiovascular Health Alliance
The Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation, Inc. is an active member of the Wisconsin Cardiovascular Health Alliance. The CVH Alliance includes partners from over 50 key stakeholders involved in heart disease and stroke prevention, care and education in Wisconsin. This dynamic group provides expertise and guidance to the Wisconsin Cardiovascular Health Program and its partners; collaborates to develop and implement evidence-based guidelines, strategies, and resources to improve heart disease and stroke care statewide; actively participates in prevention initiatives; advocates for prevention and effective treatment of heart disease and stroke; and assists with evaluation and quality improvement efforts.
